Are You Prepared For A Loss?

Here are some hints to help you prepare for a claim and ensure you have valuable information we need.

AUTO
• Become familiar with repair facilities in your area and the quality of work they do. We have several body shops, glass repair businesses, etc. that we deal with regularly and can provide you with recommendations, if needed.
• Take periodic photos of the inside and outside of your vehicles to document their condition in the event of an unrecovered theft of total fire.
• Be aware you will owe your deductible to the repair facility when repairs are completed.
• If you need a rental vehicle, verify with your agent that your policy does include coverage for this cost.

HOMEOWNERS
• Document your personal property. This can be done in several ways: itemized lists, receipts, credit card bills and check copies will verify the age and price of items. Photos and video tape are fast and easy ways to document all your personal property. Be sure to include everything in closets and drawers!
• It is a good idea to give a copy of this information to your agent or place it in a safety deposit box in case you suffer a totally fire loss.
• Keep your family photos and videos in a fire box. Store the box in a closet close to an exit where it can be removed quickly. These precious memories can not be replaced by any insurance policy.
• Another good idea is to become familiar with the contractors in your area who you would trust to make repairs to your home. We have several whom we can recommend as well.
